Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dehydrator I have not bought this yet but have borrowed one from my neighbor. I love it. It is quick and easy to use and I can fit a lot into it... I now wish I had taken a picture as I dried comfrey leaves, parsley, tomatoes and so much more when I had it. I would have kept it longer but she needed it back to dry her mushrooms that she had grown! I have been shopping to see what else is out on the market and I have not found anything that is even comparable to this one. I really like that there is a glass door on it now. The only thing that I wish they had was an adjustable fan speed as it does blow some of the herbs around a bit. Fantastic product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Excalibur Dehydrator!!!! I have had my Excalibur Dehydrator for several years and I love it. I have dried a variety of fruits and vegetables with my dehydrator. I have won numerous 1st place awards using my Excalibur Dehydrator at the local fairs. My bananas, apples and raisins are favorites. I really like the large square trays and their ease of cleaning. I also utilize my Excalibur Dehydrator to raise money for the local chapliancy. I have regular customers that brag how good my apples and banana look and taste. The temperature control and timer help create fantastic edibles My Excalibur Dehydrator has been a vital part of assisting the chapliancy and having fun! I would recommend this product if you want ot have fun as you store your summer goodies!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I absolutely love the Excalibur Dehydrator! The Excalibur has come a long way since I had my organic produce market & raw food kitchen in Merritt Island, FL. back in the mid 1990's until late 2002. Often, we had 3 going at all times, day & night, making cookies, crackers & nut loaves. I had no idea they come with a timer option now! I would strongly recommend everyone purchase an Excalibur over any other brand out there. None of mine ever broke down... I recently had to let go of my last one and I miss it terribly. I placed a refurbished one on my wish list. Starting to gather some raw food clients again, it would come in very handy in what I can offer to them as far as food prep. Maybe it is time to set up a website and become an affiliate again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 9 Tray w/timer I've had my Excalibur 3926T for many years. We've used it for beef jerky, flax seed crackers, and all kinds of fruit leathers. It's so fun and easy to create healthy snacks that will last for MONTHS. I am impressed that we've never had a single issue with this machine. I love that it's simple - no bells and whistles to break down. Sometimes simple is actually better! Watched a few videos recently and am now re-inspired to try drying some greens for making into powder this month. Always something new to try! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Unit Wow! How awesome this unit is. There are 9 trays on it, so it makes it easier to do more at one time than some of your smaller ones. The wattage is higher, so less time in drying, and if I decide to move to another place that has 250 volts, then it is good there too. This unit is so good, and I want to share, buy one. It does an awesome job and you won't want to be without one. The warranty is great! 10 years. Not many small appliances offer that. So you are getting a dehydrator that will last for many years. I want to encourage you to buy one if you did not already. Happy dehydrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Buy For All Raw Food Chefs! I bought the 9-Tray back in 2006, and use it all the time. I have made breads, crackers, bagels, tamales, crisps and cobblers, cinnamon rolls, dried fruit, flowers and herbs- you name it. The Excalibur really does produce quality results, and is worth the price. The fan provides even air flow all the way around. All the racks are easy to clean and adjust to your needs. Fun to use and highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate Perfection! We love our Excalibur! Have used it for so many things! It ensures that everything from the garden gets used! Never would have thought that my four year olds' favourite food would be kale chips. It is pretty quiet and the book that comes with it has some great pointers in it. Definetely worth the investment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High volume of moving air means green dry basil! I have 3 9-tray dryers …bought the first one in 1984 and it's still in service (new motor about 10 years ago)! I depend on my dryers for culinary herb, dried tomatoes, and paprika production! They are humming constantly for about 6 months of the year. We also make fruit leather, beef and turkey jerky, dried apples, pears, blueberries, and cranberries …sometimes we even dry surplus vegetables.

Curious what an average power usage per hour would be off of your 9 tray 600w dehydrator. Let's consider this at the highest output rating. Thank you.

Asked by: kyle
Depends on where you live. Approximately 3 - 5 cents per hour.

Why is the 5 tray dehydrator more than the 9 tray.

Asked by: Lete
I think you are comparing a 5-tray with a timer and clear door to a 9-tray without a timer and clear door.
